VANISHING VOICES
This book explores Chinese dialect films as a form of cultural resistance. While Mandarin dominates the screen as the standard and mainstream, dialect films reveal voices often silenced. Through scenes, subtitles, and sound, these works preserve local identity and present the culture heritage that can only be expressed through dialects. The book curates images, dialogues to show how cinema becomes a space for decolonizing expression.
